Jack's Blog & Media Appearances

Jack Appears on MSNBC.

Jack will appear today on MSNBC to talk about the recent poisoning of a former Russian spy in London and whether the SVR, successor to the KGB, could have been involved.

There is a lot for conspiracy theorists to chew on in this case. Russian President Putin has clamped down on journalists in a manner not seen since Soviet times, including closing down stations and intimidating journalists directly. In addition, 13 journalists have been murdered since 2000 with no arrests.

Most recently, one journalist was killed who aired some embarrassing stories about atrocities in Chechnya that made President Putin look bad. Col. Litvinenko was investigating this until he somehow ingested an unknown substance, potentially thallium, a very strong poison.

The options are these. It could have been the SVR. It could have been some rogue group in the SVR. It could have been organized crime. Or it could have been a group out to make the President look bad.

Jack will talk about this today on MSNBC with Nora O'Donnell and later with Contessa Brewer.
