Jack was broadcasting live from Camp Ripley as part of WCCO Radio's "Bringing Minnesota Home" campaign. Jack spoke with military families, military support and residents of the neighboring communites Randall and Little Falls, MN.
DNR Commissioner Mark Holsten and Dave Garshelis, a bear biologist talked about a program that tracks bears around the Camp Ripley area and the medical information they obtain from the bears. This conversation highlighted the efforts of the DNR and the military.
Imagine the logistical nightmare that would be sending 11,000 steaks to Iraq for the troops. Pat Harris, a spokesperson for "Serving Our Troops" talked about a huge steak feed they are planning in Iraq for the Minnesota National Guard.
Finally, Col. Rich Weaver, Camp Ripley Post Commander talked about the role Camp Ripley is used for with the Minnesota National Guard.
