A Drug War Rages South of the Border. Jack Interviews Sam Quinones of the LA Times about the Mexican Drug Wars.
There is a State of War taking place in Mexico as we speak. The war is between several drug cartels as well as the drug cartels and the Mexican government. Sadly, however, it is the Mexican people who are many of the victims. And, as importantly, the U.S. bares significant responsibility because the cargo that all sides are fighting over is destined for the US. Namely, drugs. In 2008, more than 6,000 were killed and already in 2009, more than 1,000 more have been killed. Sam Quinones, a staff reporter with the LA Times, joins the program.
