As the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard Defamation trial Continues, Sometimes the Media is not your friend. Court TV Appearance

  • Jack Rice Defense 370 Selby Avenue, Suite 207 St. Paul, Minnesota 55102 United States (map)

Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for defamation and Heard is suing Depp right back. The case goes back to 2018 when Heard wrote an OPEd in the Washington Post about being a victim of domestic violence. Even the Court made it clear that there was little doubt that it was directed at Depp. Depp is claiming damages but the broader question is whether this lawsuit actually damages Depp even more.

Jack Rice appears on Court TV on April 12, 2022 to discuss the trial and what happens when the media stays interested. As a criminal defense attorney, Jack has handled many high profile cases in which the media continued to have interest. While there are times where working the media is beneficial to your client, there are those circumstances where continuing contact only provides the media with more oxygen to keep you client’s face on the front page of the paper and this simply may not be in their best interest. In fact, it may be the last thing you want.
