Can Race Play a Role in the Criminal Justice System? Yes.

Racism exists in the world and also exists in the criminal justice system. This shouldn't be a surprise to anybody. It happens in arrests, charges, convictions, sentencing, appeals and more. To ignore this reality will help perpetuate it. Board Certified Criminal Law Specialist and Criminal Defense Attorney Jack Rice appears on Court TV on 11/24/21 to discuss the Ahmaud Abery case and racism in the criminal justice system. jackricelaw.com

Criminal Defense Attorney talks Murder and Manslaughter on WCCO

Former Police Officer Mohamed Noor will appear before Hennepin County Judge Kathryn Quaintance to be re-sentenced today from a 2019 murder conviction. He was originally convicted on 3rd both degree murder and manslaughter. However, the 3rd degree murder conviction was overturned by the Minnesota Supreme court after the Court determined that the 3rd degree charge simply didn’t apply in this case. As a result, rather than the 12 1/2 year sentence that he received, it is expected that Noor will receive somewhere between 41-57 months. He has already served 29 months and could actually walk out of the courtroom a free man today.

St. Paul Criminal defense attorney Jack Rice appears on WCCO today to discuss murder and manslaughter and how they apply in these different circumstances. Jack is a Board Certified Criminal Law Specialist and founder of Jack Rice Defense.

If you are facing murder, manslaughter or other serious felony charged in the Twin charges, contact Jack for a free confidential consultation or call 651-447-7650 or 612-227-1339 Jack can talk to you about the charges, possible sentences and the first and second steps you should take in developing a proper defense.

Jack Appears on AM950 in Minneapolis to Discuss Police Lies and How They Impact the Criminal Justice System

Police have again provided false information about “violent suspects” who then end up dead. This absolutely happened in the George Floyd case. It happened again this weekend in Uptown after a man was shot and authorities claimed the person was a murder suspect. He was not.

The police have a very real credibility problem here in the Twin Cities and across the country. It seems clear that they lie was it strikes their fancy or until somebody introduces a video camera to contradict the statements.

I appear on Am 950 in Minneapolis with Matt McNeil to discuss the criminal justice system, credibility and what happens when the police lie. This will be a early interesting conversation.
