Building a defense in a criminal trial is complex and requires a combination of using the witnesses you have at your disposal, having a better interpretation of what you have and the ability to highlight what evidence is missing. However, looking at witnesses, the first thing that a good trial lawyer must do is know why they are calling a witness at trial or why you are cross examining them. If they don't have a very specific wish list, then you need to go back to the drawing board.

Jack Rice appears on Court TV on 2/15/22 to discuss trial advocacy, how you try cases and how you do direct and cross examination. Jack also talked about form of question and why it matters so much when you are trying to control witnesses. If you are facing serious criminal charges in Minnesota, you may very well have a jury trial in your future. You better have an experienced criminal defense attorney by your side.
