Circumstantial Evidence Can Beat You in Minnesota Criminal Trials if Co-Defendants are Bad Enough - Video

"It's all circumstantial evidence. There is nothing that ties me to the scene." This can be important and may very well help in an acquittal in Minnesota criminal trials. That being said, it can also be enough to convict. If the State can build a case that is wobbly enough but still stands, there are some juries who will convict because they think the defendant is dirty. This is especially true if co-defendants who are dirty themselves seem to be the same kinds of people.
“If you lie down with dogs, you wake of with fleas. Juries believe this.”
Jack Rice appears on Court TV on 3/21/22 to discuss circumstantial evidence, co-defendants and juries. It is complex and can sometimes be as much art as it is science.
If you are facing serious criminal charges in Minnesota, especially if there are co-defendant involved, make sure that your criminal defense attorney has experience handling these kinds of cases. It really can make all of the difference.
