St. Paul Attorney talks about whether the Government Can Call Daunte Wright Victim During the Trial? - Video

During a criminal jury trial, the Government regularly wants to call somebody the victim just like they want to call somebody the perpetrator or criminal. However, generally speaking, this is completely inappropriate because that is the reason that the jury is there. They are frequently there to determine whether the person was there or not. Hence, even in the Kim Potter murder trial, while Daunte Wright was shot and killed, the question is whether he was a victim or whether his behavior caused the event. This is a legal question before this jury.

St. Paul Criminal Defense Attorney Jack Rice appears on Court TV on December 2, 2021 to discuss jury selection and how both sides try to present their themes during this process.
