Juries notice everything, seriously. At the end of trials, juries have asked me some of the funniest and most ridiculous questions. In the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard defamation trial, Depp's psychologist expert's messy bun seems to have caught the attention of some viewers. Don't ask me why but it happens. Believe it or not, even the jury may have noticed. However, the bun absolutely works.

“Is it about hair? Of course not. Who cares? Well, believe it or not, a jury can and it can the perception of authenticity. In the end, you want the jury to believe.”

What you need in an expert is competency, capability, honesty and the perception of being about the fray. If you come across as too packaged or slick, you lose credibility. This piece just added to her authenticity. She absolutely killed it on the stand and as she pivoted to the jury to answer questions, it was obvious that she is a pro.

Jack Rice appears on Court TV on 4/26/22 and comments live on the expert's effectiveness with the jury. This issues matter in a big way.
