Do No Knock Search Warrants in Minnesota Create More Danger and More Death? A WCCO Appearance

If you talk to the police, they claim that No Knock Search Warrants are designed to secure evidence and to protect the police. However, with the never ending drumbeat about the 2nd Amendment and the right to protect yourself, if the police break down your door, doesn’t this just create the knee-jerk reaction where everybody just starts shooting? If you don’t know it is the police, don’t you have the right to defend yourself? Even worse, do they create the environment where people can become victims when it was never necessary. This is exactly the argument that Amir Locke’s family is arguing right now as the Minneapolis Police Department Swat Team used such a warrant, known down a door and shot and killed him the other night.

Jack Rice appears on WCCO Radio on February 6, 2022 with Jearlyn Steele to discuss search warrants, the Minneapolis Police, and another young man dead. It is a difficult conversation but one that couldn’t be more timely.

If you are facing charges and need the best lawyer, contact Jack Rice Defense. Jack is a Board Certified Criminal Law Specialist, former prosecutor and Founder of Jack Rice Defense. Contact Jack Rice Defense for a free consultation or call 651-447-7650 or 612-227-1339.

Jack Appears on WCCO To Discuss How to Customize Trial to this Jury.

Click here to watch the interview that I did with WCCO’s Adam Carter.

After almost two and a half weeks, the Defense and Prosecution teams have picked twelve jurors and three alternates. They represent a cross section of Hennepin County, 20s, 30s, 40, 50s, women, men, black, white, everybody. They all have strongly divergent views that come from their life experiences. The real question is, now what.

I appear on WCCO with Adam Carter today to talk exactly that. Simply, it is now time to customize those openings, those cross examinations, those direct examinations to those people in from of you. Look at their quotes, their backgrounds, the things that bother then, the things that don’t, and craft your case just for them.

This is a story and telling the most compelling story that reflects the life narratives of these people is critical to each team’s success. They will be looking back at all of the videotape to decide what to do and when.

Minnesota Criminal Defense Attorney Talks Jury Selection on WCCO Radio

As a criminal defense attorney for a long time in Minneapolis/St. Paul, sitting on the Chauvin trial will be a real challenge for many. I think some people regularly want to see cops as the “good guys.” To see then as anything else will take a real shifting of their values rather than an embrace of them. This is what both sides we be seeking out during jury selection.

I appear on WCCO Radio with Dave Lee on March 8th at 6:50 a.m. Should be fun.
