A President Asking for a Political Favor is a Problem But is It Enough to Impeach.

At the end of the day, is it enough? When a sitting President reaches out to a foreign power and asks them to investigate a political rival, this is a problem. Simply put a sitting President, any sitting President should not do this. It exposes to blackmail, impacts their credibility, impacts the credibility of the country and causes a whole series of problems. The real question however is whether this is enough for impeachment.

The President has argued that this phone call was perfect and that there was nothing wrong with it. Simply put, he is objectively wrong. No President under any circumstances should do this. However, is it enough for “high crimes and misdemeanors” necessary for impeachment?

In the end, this sounds like a criminal question but it is not. It is a criminal question that must be addressed. First, it must be looked at in the House and then in the Senate. However, remember that this is about not just the impeachment question but also about the upcoming election.

I appear on Press TV out of the Middle East to discuss. The whole world is watching.
