So What's Wrong with Going After Your Political Rivals?

President Trump has made a career after going after his rivals with a political skill rarely seen. Most recently, he seems to go after Joe Biden by trying to use the Ukrainian President as a club and then Congressman Schiff by presumably the Justice Department here in the States. So what’s wrong with that and is there a difference?

Going after Schiff is interesting in that using the pulpit to argument misconduct and then argue that they should be investigated “at the highest levels” is nothing new. Happens all of the time. To call them a traitor goes farther than is typical but may just be seen as hyperbole. Using a foreign power is different.

When the President chose to call the Ukrainian President and ask his to go after a political rival who was running against him in an upcoming election is fundamentally different. This is a foreign power. This is a potential adversary. This is a conflict and crosses over a fundamental line that can never be crossed. Expect this to be the focus on this investigation.

I appear on multiple media outlets in the coming days to discuss including Voice of America International News, Richard French Live and others as well. This should get interesting.
